Botswana Infrastructure Investment (BII) Summit

IMPLEMENTING CATALYSTS FOR SUSTAINABLE FINANCING

Buoyed by sustained economic growth, good governance and prudent fiscal policies, Botswana is making swift progress to implement programmes and projects to achieve its National Development Plans. To successfully deliver this plan, Botswana must plug the existing infrastructure financing gap and transform its economy from a commodity-dependent to a more diversified private sector-led economy. However, the need for infrastructure investment far outstrips available funds. The size of the requirements and the limited financial capacity means that both public and private sectors and from both within and outside the continent must play their relevant parts to the full in all aspects of the sector.

Themed Implementing Catalysts for Sustainable Financing, the summit convenes a practitioner-led ecosystem for thought-provoking discussions on how the public and private sector can work together to sustainably finance infrastructure assets. As well as explore the role of pension funds, insurers and asset managers in Botswana’s private capital ecosystem.
